自然指数（Nature Index，网址：https://www.nature.com/nature-index/）是依托于全球顶级期刊（2014年11月开始选定68种，2018年6月改为82种，2023年新增健康科学领域期刊，总计145种期刊），统计各高校、科研院所（国家/地区）在国际上最具影响力的研究型学术期刊上发表论文数量的数据库。按照学科分类主要包括生命科学（Biological sciences）、化学（Chemistry）、地球与环境科学（Earth & environmental sciences）、健康科学（Health sciences）以及物理科学（Physical sciences）。
自然指数已发展成为国际公认的、能够衡量机构、国家和地区在自然科学领域的高质量研究产出与合作情况的重要指标，在全球范围内有很大影响力。
